Dubai, 15th December, 2014: Global Village, Dubai’s leading family entertainment and cultural attraction, can add host of world record attempts and the site of the new Longest Twin Drifting Record to its list of achievements. On the 14th December, Ahmad Daham from Jordan and James Deane from Ireland set the record for the longest ‘drift-ed’ distance by two identical cars.
The two drivers of the Nissan 370Zs took two attempts to set the brand new record after Guinness World Book of Records officials set a minimum distance of 25 kilometers to create the new record. The record consisted of the both drivers making their cars ‘drift’ around a specially made track in close proximity to each other in a ‘twin drift’ routine that took 44 minutes to complete, with the cars traveling over 28.5 kilometers to set the record.
Fahad Al Khaja, Global Village’s Director of Government Relations and Administrations, said “Global Village is pleased to have welcomed this world and regional first to our site as this falls in line with our vision to have a wide array of entertainment and cultural attractions for people from all walks of life to enjoy, and as a leading entertainment brand within the UAE and the Middle East, it is fantastic to have a leading brand like Nissan want to use our site to break this new world record.”
Mohammad Al Falasi, Managing Director of Prodrift Academy stated that“The performance of this world record breaking event on the Global Village grounds was a particularly momentous occasion. Global Village and its excellent venue gave Nissan and Prodrift Academy the chance to bring another first to the region.”
