Festival’s Production and Post-Production Fund Lends Invaluable Backing to Region’s Filmmakers
Dubai, December 13, 2014–The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) is proud to announce that its Enjaaz programme has supported a total of 17 films at the 11th edition, which will run from 10th to 17th December 2014.
Enjaaz is the Festival’s production and post-production support arm, part of the Dubai Film Market (DFM), which was launched in 2007 to support the burgeoning cinema industry in the Arab world. Films which have received the sought-after support come from across the region, and are:
- The Sleeping Tree by Mohammed Rashed Buali
- Coffee for all Nations by Wafa Jamil
- Nearby Sky by Nujoom Al Ghanem
- The Council by Yahya Alabdallah
- Diaries of a Flying dog by Bassem Fayad
- In this Land Lay Graves of Mine by Reine Mitri

- Bad Hunter by Sahim Omar Kalifa
- I Am Nujoom age 10 and Divorced by Khadija Al-Salami

Masoud Amralla Al Ali, DIFF Artistic Director, said: “DIFF and Enjaaz are proud to support the region’s increasingly talented filmmakers. One of the major problems with producing great works of cinematic excellence is a lack of financial backing and industry support and programmes like Enjaaz can help complete films that may otherwise have not gained exposure. We are delighted to see so many of the works we have backed go on to win international awards and wide acclaim.”
