Last Update: Monday, December 8, 2014 : 17:04 (+4GMT)
His Excellency Marino Finozzi, Italian Minister of Tourism and Trade for the Veneto Region will be visiting the UAE on a three day visit commencing 7th December to promote bilateral tourism and trade.
During his visit, HE Finozzi will be meeting with senior public sector officials from the UAE’s tourism industry as well as addressing a press conference at the Raffles Hotel in Dubai on 8th December.
HE Finozzi will also be meeting leading outbound tour operators from the emirates to emphasize Veneto region’s attractions as a tourist destination.
“Venice is a popular tourism destination and an important gateway in northern Italy for commerce. I am certain that many Arab travellers will want to explore the Veneto via Dubai,” HE Finozzi remarked.
Unquestionably, one of the most lucrative sectors of the economy is tourism and it is one of the major tourist attractions in Europe attracting over 60 million tourists a year.
But Veneto is much more than the surrounding area of Venice. Numerous seaside resorts such as Caorle, Bibione, and Jesolo, as well as the holiday destinations around Lake Garda attract many holidaymakers every summer.
Along with the Venetian Carnival, the ski resorts around Cortina d’Ampezzo are well booked in winter. The cultural and university cities of Verona and Padua are near Venice and are also very popular destinations for tourists from all over the world.
The Veneto region is one of the richest areas in Italy, with the highest number of registered companies in the country including multinationals, as well as profitable organisations, many of which boast global trademarks like Benetton, Diesel, Electrolux, Diadora, Aprilia, Dainese, and Illy.
The industrial sector in Veneto has grown in recent years and turned Veneto into a major economic region of Italy. Many companies have settled in Veneto, and a wide variety of products are produced there.
