Arab Strategy Forum to Explore the State of the World and Arab World in 2015

Dubai-UAE: 27 November 2014 – The Arab Strategy Forum, set to run in Dubai on December 14, 2014 will host Political Expert Francis Fukuyaman, author of End of History and Paul Krugman, holder Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences and a number of experts in a bid to draw a map of the state of the world and the state of the Arab world in 2015. The forum will discuss the main expected political and economic changes in addition to mapping the main influential powers and major economic trends.
“The Arab Strategy forum provides a global platform to discuss and debate Arab and international political affairs and highlight economic issues that directly impact the present and future of the world’s people,” according to His Excellency Mohammed Al Gergawi, Chairman of the Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Al Gergawi, who is also head of the organizing committee of the Arab Strategy Forum noted that the forum, will discuss potential regional and international scenarios and challenges for 2015 in addition to recommending appropriate solutions that would serve the greater development goals of the region, and the world at large.
The 2014 edition of the forum will include panel discussions and interactive research paper presentations that will allow experts and specialists to debate the world’s most significant political and economic challenges at present.
The Arab Strategy Forum will host thought leaders, decision makers and experts from the regional and global political and economic landscape. The forum agenda will include a panel discussion that aims to forecast the political state of the world headlined by political expert Francis Fukuyama, the author of ‘End of History and the Last Man’ book. Fukuyama will talk about the political state of the world and the most prominent powers in the geopolitical landscape at present, in addition to highlighting major political trends for 2015.
The forum will also draw a picture of the future of world economy in 2015 in a panel discussion directed by Dr Paul Krugman, Winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Economics, and one of the world’s foremost economists. Dr Krugman will provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of global economy and outline its future in 2015.
Ghassan Salameh, political expert and former Lebanese minister, and Ahmad Abu Elghait, former Egyptian Foreign Minister will headline a session on the political state of the Arab world in light of the international power shift, as well as the challenges and opportunities that would face the region as a result, in 2015.
Economy and oil expert Abdalla Salem El-Badri, who served twice as Secretary-General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), will project economic opportunities and challenges anticipated in the Arab world next year in light of the continuing volatility in oil prices. Meanwhile, Dr Henry Azzam, former CEO of Deutsche Bank in the Middle East and North Africa will focus on the current economic situation in the Arab world and highlight the opportunities and challenges in the banking and investment sectors, in an attempt to draw a picture of the future of the Arab economy in 2015.
Bruce Bueno de Mesquita, founder of one of the most important theories in the field of strategic thinking, will share his perspectives on crucial developments in foreign affairs in the next two years.
The Arab Strategy Forum was launched in 2001 and has succeeded over the years in becoming a platform that provides an overview of the future and highlights the most important challenges that may face the world, through attracting prominent political and business leaders such as former US President Bill Clinton, late Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Al-Hariri, Samuel Huntington, American professor of political science, Eric Schmidt, Chairman of Google, and Kofi Annan, former Secretary General of the United Nations, among others.
