Dubai, 16 November, 2014: Movie buffs from around the UAE will be able to enjoy a series of some of the world’s best films for free this coming December, as the Dubai International Film Festival’s (DIFF’s) public screenings return once again.
In a celebration of all things cinematic, the films this year will be shown at THE BEACH, opposite JBR. The development is a new addition to the leisure and entertainment landscape offering first time experiences of an outdoor lifestyle venue where urban meets the sea. THE BEACH is Dubai’s newest and most exciting development catering to both local residents and global visitors, spanning up to 300,000 square feet. The destination uniquely set with a scenic backdrop of the Arabian sea provides an ensemble of options for community engagement, including a host of outdoor activities, fitness facilities, a range of shops, cineplex, restaurants and a splash pad and play-area for kids - offering plentiful choices to engage visitors.
On the opening night, film fans will be able to watch the glitz and glamour from the red carpet where there will be a live broadcast followed by a screening of a film, with entry on a first-come, first-served basis.
Abdulhamid Juma, DIFF Chairman said: “It’s our absolute pleasure to be uniting keen audiences with a line-up of brilliant films again this year, through our free public screenings. It has always been our aim to showcase global cinema to UAE fans and is our way of saying thank you to the public for all their support over the last 11 years. With a wonderful mix of documentaries and feature films from talented global directors, we know that there’s something that everyone will enjoy.”
The free screenings will run from 10th December, 2014 at THE BEACH, opposite JBR. For the programme and more details, go to www.diff.ae
