Brazil's confectionery exports to Middle East increases by 10.3 per cent to earn revenue of USD 6.1 million

UAE, October 15, 2014: The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) has announced that Brazil exported almost 63,400 tonnes of confectionery products globally, earning a revenue of USD 161 million between January and July 2014. During the same period, Brazilian confectionery exports to the Middle East touched 2,900 tonnes, an increase of 10.3 per cent and earning USD 6.1 million in revenues when compared to the same period in 2013.

Sweets & Snacks Middle East 2014 is an excellent platform for Brazilian confectionery companies to seek opportunities for business partnership with Arab companies and enter into the Arab market. The number of companies participating in the trade fair has increased to seven from the previous year’s three, indicating its tremendous business potential where deals worth USD 1.6 million were closed in 2013 and expect to sign USD 3.5 million worth of deals at this year’s show.

The Arab region is an attractive export market for Brazilian companies because of its traditional business relationship with the region, higher receptivity to Brazilian products, low marketing cost, and ease of doing business. Yemen and Algeria are the biggest confectionery markets in the Middle East while drops are the top most export items to these countries.
