Dubai-UAE: 12 June, 2014 – Landmark Group, the region’s leading retail and hospitality conglomerate, held a live demonstration of select recipes from its Healthy Iftar Recipe’s Cookbook, the latest addition to the Group’s activities under the Beat Diabetes initiative. The event was hosted at Balance Café, the Group's specialty café in Oasis Centre.
Chef Sumeet Garg, Executive Chef at Balance Café, engaged participants in an interactive cooking session, crafting classic delicacies with a healthy twist. The session also witnessed an exchange of ideas for putting together wholesome meals, featuring different cuisines that can be savored during iftar or suhour during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Healthy Iftar Recipe’s Cookbook is an e-book that will be launched on Friday, June 27, in English and Arabic. Emphasizing the need to follow a healthy diet through the holy month, the book details over 50 recipes for soups and salads, starters, main courses and accompaniments, as well as desserts from Arabic, Indian and Continental cuisines.
Healthy Iftar Recipe’s Cookbook has been compiled under Landmark Group’s ‘Eat Healthy’ banner, a programme that is used to encourage people to adopt healthy dietary practices. Healthy Iftar Recipe’s Cookbook’s dedicated Facebook page will take the message a step further by hosting competitions across the GCC, with winners awarded Home Centre vouchers.
