HH Sheikha Jawaher receives Commemorative Plaque from National Media Council to mark Sharjah's rise into the Capital of Islamic Culture

Plaque pays tribute to Her Highness’ efforts in making Sharjah a cultural hub for the Islamic world
UAE, Sharjah, 8 May 2014: The Sharjah office of the National Media Council has presented a special Commemorative Plaque as a token of appreciation to Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi -- Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs. The plaque is in recognition of Her Highness’ role in helping Sharjah to blossom into the Capital of Islamic Culture.
In a statement, Her Highness said: “It is a tremendous honor to see that our combined efforts across Sharjah have seen us emerge as a shining beacon of cultural expression not only in the Arab world, but the entire Islamic world. Sharjah has always prided itself in being a family-centered community that preserves the past, celebrates the present and innovates the future.”
Mrs. Noura Noman – General Director of the Executive Office of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, accepted the plaque on Her Highness’ behalf at a ceremony that was attended by delegates from the National Media Council.
Her Highness has played a pivotal part in cultural excellence in diverse roles that have included being Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Islamic Cultural Institute in Switzerland, the Emirates Woman Award for Literature and Arts, the Qur'an and Hadith Ladies' Award, as well as Patron of the UAE Women Writers' Association and numerous other organizations that benefit girls, women, youths, families and the society as a whole.
Her cultural accomplishments are in addition to her many humanitarian and business roles.
