Global law firm Eversheds has signed an agreement with CWA Morocco to partner in the country, establishing two new offices for the firm in Casablanca and Tangier under the name of Eversheds CWA Morocco.
Led by Managing Partner Mohamed Oulkhouir, Eversheds CWA Morocco advises domestic and international clients across a broad spectrum of industries, including maritime, automotive, financial services and industrial engineering.
This new partnership is part of the firm’s Pan-African strategy and supports the firm’s African strategy announced in October 2013 of establishing offices in key markets.
Boris Martor, Head of Eversheds’ Africa practice, said:
“As a Gateway to Northern Africa, Morocco is an important market for us. After signing a cooperation agreement 3 years ago with CWA Morocco, Eversheds is pleased to now rebrand the offices with Mohamed and his team who quickly established themselves as a preeminent team of lawyers handling complex matters in Morocco.”
Establishing branded hubs in Africa is an important element in Eversheds’ strategy for growth in Africa . In December 2013, Eversheds announced tie-ups with firms in key markets of South Africa, Mauritius and Tunisia and is continuing to explore opportunities in Ghana and Kenya.
In addition, the firm established Eversheds Africa Law Institute last October with 14 original members. This has grown rapidly since then with Eversheds announcing at the beginning of March that the network had reached 33 members in 37 offices across 31 African countries.
