Both Car and Truck Tyre Safety will be the Focus of Michelin’s Road Safety Campaign in partnership with RTA & Tasjeel
Held in partnership with RTA for the Gulf Traffic Week, Michelin will target to check the safety of 1,500 truck tyres in locations across Dubai, as well as an additional 1,000 passenger car tyres at Tasjeel outlets
Dubai, UAE 26 March 2014: For the Gulf Traffic Week, in partnership with the RTA, Michelin has organized free tyre safety checks for both trucks as well as passenger vehicles around Dubai, in collaboration with Tasjeel.
“Safety has always been an essential part of the Michelin credo,” said Hany Abdulsamad, Marketing Manager for Michelin in the UAE and Oman. “Our contribution during the Gulf Traffic Week will be to do safety checks for at least 1,500 truck tyres and 1,000 passenger car tyres in locations around Dubai.”
The first two safety checks for truck tyres were held on 13 & 23 March at the Vegetable Market Truck Park, in conjunction with RTA and in cooperation with Dubai Municipality. Other truck tyre events are planned for 29 March at Jebel Ali Port & Free Zone and 5 April at Tasjeel Al Warsan.
Car tyre checks organized in conjunction with Tasjeel will be done at the following outlets: The first was organized at Tasjeel Al Barsha on 22 March. Other tyre checks are planned at Tasjeel JAFZA on 30 March, Tasjeel Al Qussais on 20 April and Tasjeel Al Barsha on 26 April.
“Well-maintained tyres with the right pressures are critical for safety on our roads, and it is necessary to ensure car and truck tyres are checked regularly,” said Mr. Mohamed Aqel, General Manager of Central Trading Company of Al Rostamani Group, the importer of Michelin tyres for Dubai and the Northern Emirates. “We are pleased to be part of these initiatives as we believe tyres, while critical to safety, are often overlooked by drivers,” Mr Aqel added.
Participants of the free tyre safety check will receive expert feedback as well as information and giveaways from the Michelin team.
