Le Méridien Village Festival, Get Sri Lankan'ed again! on 11th April 2014 with a wide array of entertainment for everyone

Abu Dhabi, UAE, March 9th, 2014 – Following a successful “Get Sri Lankan’ed” on 26th April 2013 Le Méridien Abu Dhabi is delighted to announce the launching of its 8th Méridien Village Festival – “Get Sri Lankan’ed again!” on 11th April 2014 from 1:00pm onwards. Visitors will get an opportunity to celebrate, learn and savour the authentic Sri Lankan culture, heritage and cuisines. The program will showcase cultural shows such as the famous “Kandyan Dance”, folkdance performances, a live “Calypso band” and a Sri Lankan band will keep you entertained with the latest upbeat until sunset. We will also celebrate the “Aluth Avurudda” - the Sinhalese New Year - with traditional dance performances, games and festive sweetmeats. Children will also have great fun with face painting and bouncy castle at the Village.
On this special occasion, Le Méridien Abu Dhabi will have the privilege of welcoming His Excellency Dr. Mahinda Balasuriya, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka for UAE, who will be celebrating with us.
Food stalls will host an array of delicious Sri Lankan dishes at a very affordable price. A large live cooking station will showcase: kavum, kokis, hoppers and kottu roti. The snack station will offer a variety such as fish buns, cutlets, egg rolls and kiri bath. The entrance is AED 50 for men inclusive of 1 drink and is free for ladies and kids.
