ADNOC Distribution Announces Third Price Reduction in 2014 for Refilling of LPG Cylinders across Northern Emirates

Abu Dhabi - UAE: March 10, 2014 – ADNOC Distribution has announced its third reduction in prices since February 2014 for the refilling of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders across its service stations in the Northern Emirates including Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain.

Under the new price structure, effective from March 10, the cost of refilling LPG cylinders of 25lbs capacity has come down to AED45, a decrease of AED5 from the previous marked retail price of AED50 that was announced and approved by ADNOC Distribution during February 2014. The company has also reduced the price of refilling the 50lbs capacity LPG cylinder that is available only at Riffa station in Dibba-Fujairah to AED91, a reduction of AED9 from the earlier marked price of AED100.

Khalid Hadi, Vice-President of Marketing and Corporate Communications, ADNOC Distribution, said: "This reduction of price is the third for this year. This step reflects ADNOC Distribution’s commitment in meeting the needs of all customers purchasing gas cylinders in the emirates of Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Our step also comes in response to the movement of LPG prices in global markets.”

In February this year, ADNOC Distribution reduced the price of refillable LPG cylinders of 25lbs capacity to AED50, down AED4 from the previous marked retail price of AED54. The company also reduced the price of refilling the 50lbs capacity LPG cylinder to AED100, a reduction of AED5 from the earlier marked price of AED105.

ADNOC Distribution currently provides more than 3,000 subsidized 25 lbs gas cylinders daily at its service stations in Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Additionally, holders of Rahal ‘E-Gas’ cards in the Northern Emirates are eligible to benefit from subsidized gas cylinders.  Rahal ‘E-Gas’ cards are issued free of cost by the company at ADNOC Distribution’s offices in Sharjah or at select ADNOC service stations across the UAE.
