Company Staff Ran 10k to Help Children Living With Cancer

A team of staff are working hard to raise money for children living with terminal cancer. The Sara Hope Foundation was founded after Sara herself died of cancer in 2001 at the age of just 16. It was set up by her parents in order to help children with cancer to go on holiday with their families and is currently being supported by the Kids Initiative. Staff from the Kids Initiative are involved in raising money for the Foundation in a variety of ways, including taking part in a charity run in Dubai.

The Sara Hope Foundation works to help affected families to spend quality time together on holiday without having to worry about funding the break or the flights themselves. The breaks themselves take place at a special retreat in Crete which has been set up by Sara’s parents.

Children Living with Terminal Cancer Offered Respite at Special Retreat

Sara Hoburn battled a rare form of colon cancer for two years before passing away and is remembered for her caring personality, something that is reflected by the cause she has inspired. The breaks being funded by the Foundation are designed to offer much-needed respite to families affected by cancer in children.

The breaks allow families to forget about the trauma and devastation that they are going through for a few days. This devastation can include lengthy stays in hospital and tough medical procedures and treatments. The Foundation aims to give the family members a chance to spend quality time together in an idyllic environment, create magical memories and reinforce their relationships. The Foundation provides respite to children affected by cancer and their families from all over the world. The retreat itself features a host of facilities designed to cater for sick children and their families.

The Kids Initiative Team took part in the Dubai Desert Road Run at the 7s Stadium, Al Ain Road.
