Aéropostale Launches Spring 2014 Trends

Specialty retailer of casual apparel for young women and men Aéropostale introduces its spring 2014 fashion trends Influenced by the Mediterranean seaside and nautical prep.

Girls Spring Trends:

Teen Spirit

Layering is key as the 90's are remixed in this delivery. Proportions for layering cropped silhouettes and longer tunics are a must for outfitting. Ruffle details keep the collection girlie, while studs, zippers, cut-outs, and cargo pockets create an edge. Positive messages and artistic painterly looks combine giving the Aéropostale girl the opportunity to express herself.  Plaid woven shirts worn around the waist, paired with a T-shirt and destroyed boyfriend jeans is the seasons go to look. Must have accessories include beanie hats and lace up booties with socks peaking out.

Mediterranean Seaside

The sea inspires this collection's color story as clear ocean blues and turquoises wash ashore crisp whites. Bright orange, red, green, pink and yellow add a pop of color to the seaside palette. Prints with a Mediterranean feel mix with embroidery to create newness for the season. Denim and chambray emerge in all silhouettes including jeans, shorts, shirts, vests, jackets and shirt dresses to complete the assortment

South Beach

Spring break is in sight as our girl gets ready for sun and fun. Bright colors play against pastels with hints of neutrals and pops of neon. As the season moves toward summer inspiration from the Miami Mod trend becomes stronger. To support this trend black and white are depicted in clean stripes, dots, and zig zag patterns in a variety of fabrications.

Guys Spring Trends:

Hilton Head

With a coastal influence and nautical touches such as Breton stripes sprinkled through the collection this delivery will lend a classic preppy feel to the season. A tight palette of bottle green, hues of blue and punches of red are complemented by a strong presence of denim. Novelty textures and lunar dye washes in knits create diversity and dimension in the assortment. The chino pant continues to be a staple with the addition of new colors such as sunbaked red, bottle green, and grey.

Palm Beach

An East coast preppy vibe continues through this delivery and is fused with a casual athletic attitude to add variety. Pastels are very important throughout the collection and are seen through dip dye techniques and subtle washes to give a gradient feel and highlight the various shades of color. Faded tropical and photo real graphics add a “Intagram-esque' feel and are related about to the Aéropostale customer.

Miami Heat

Late 80's and early 90's trends are a big influence for the color and pattern in this delivery. Street and sport references mixed with a youthful surf vibe give this collection its cool factor. Color blocking is important and represented through bold and colorful stripes in the knit category while front pocket shorts remain a strong staple. The ease of mixing trends this season will leave the Aéropostale guy feeling on trend.
