Golf fanatics are in for a stylish makeover this Spring/Summer 2014. Scandinavian shoemaker ECCO, the leader in innovative footwear, is expanding its premium hybrid offerings with a new range of stylish, high-performance golf shoes for men for the coming season.
Featuring 11 new and updated designs that embody the brand's devotion to combining traditional shoemaking craftsmanship with the highest levels of technical innovation, the ECCO premium hybrid range is constructed from wear-resistant TPU material with the award-winning Dynamic Traction System outsole. Each model is created with a patented configuration of approximately 100 moulded traction bars and 800 traction angles to provide superb, tour-quality grip.
The new Golf footwear styles – BIOM Zero, BIOM Hybrid, Tour Hybrid, BIOM Golf, and New World Class – will be seen on the feet of ECCO ambassadors Fred Couples, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjorn, Thongchai Jaidee, Marcel Siem, Wu Ashun, Andreas Hartø and JB Hansen, as they compete in the 25th edition of the Dubai Desert Classic this month.
A highlight of the new collection is the Street EVO One, which marks the latest evolution of the best-selling Golf Street. Slightly wider toward the heel, the Street EVO One boasts a Direct-injected midsole that incorporates a proprietary stabilisation plate. This uniquely cups the outside of a player's heel to create an exceptional platform from which golfers can power through each shot.
“Owning our factories and being one of the world's largest leather producers goes hand-in-hand with our foot-first approach to shoemaking,” says Michael Waack, Head of Global Golf at ECCO. “It means that we are a product-focused company and consistently offer golf shoes which deliver great levels of quality, comfort, technology and style.”
