Autograde associates with Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Public Transport Day

Dubai, Nov 4, 2013: November 1 marked the fourth edition of the annual Public Transport Day (PTD) in Dubai, which saw unprecedented response. This year's theme was ‘Progress with Dubai.' Free rides on buses, the Metro trains and Water Taxis were on offer for Nol cardholders.
Bronze Sponsor of the day's events was Autograde Industries, manufacturers of speed limiters. The firm's Managing Director, Mohamed Ashraf, said on the occasion, “It is indeed an honor to associate with the RTA on such an important occasion. The event is an important reflection the social impact of over-speeding on our lives and those of our loved ones and carbon footprint released in the environment due to unsolicited behavior. By associating with the RTA it is our endeavor to create awareness amongst the general public to control speed when on the wheel.”
One of the day's highlights of the event was the Marathon Scavenger Hunt, an innovative fun way to popularize public transport and cut carbon footprint. Hundreds of people in teams, each of which had of 2-5 participants, and clad in T-shirts emblazoned with the RTA's PTD emblem embarked on a marathon journey from Burj Plaza, adjacent to Burj Khalifa, around 4pm on Friday. The event also witnessed a Marine Parade, Book Fair, free medical check-ups and blood donations.
All in all, the exciting array of activities and offers ensured a huge turn-out which is expected to translate into the number of public transport users to surge, the main purpose of the day's celebration – to encourage more and more people to take to public transport and reduce the carbon footprint.
