Healing Art Exhibition by “Wilma Burton”

The first Healing Art exhibition at Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana, Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi November 12, 2013 – “Healing Art” is the newest show of artworks by Wilma Burton that will be exhibited in Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana Abu Dhabi under the patronage of the Private Department of H.E. Sh. Mohammed Bin Khalid Al Nahyan between 12 November and 4 December 2013. The opening will take place on Tuesday, 12 November 2013, at 6:30 pm in the Atrium of the hotel, in the presence of the artist, Wilma Burton who will display her new collection of wonderful Healing paintings and present them for sale.

“Healing Art Exhibition” is a selection of magical artworks painted by Wilma Burton; most of her collection includes compositions of nature pleasant to the eye. They transmit positive emotions such as joy, peace of mind, hope and optimism, as well as colors that are beneficial to a person's mood. The colors can also be helpful to address specific medical conditions, like blood pressure.  Wilma tends to paint images with a whimsical effect and the feeling of a fairy tale by using acrylic glitter resulting in a magical touch.

Wilma has spent over 15 years researching the healing art topic by working very closely with professionals in the health care field, medical care facilities, hospitals, clinics, and non-profit agencies like the American Cancer Society. Her years of study and research helped her learn how to create art that can ease the mind of those who find hospital settings stressful or feel intimidated by medical equipment or treatments.

About the Artist

Wilma Burton is a Venezuelan artist of Lebanese descent specializing in the area of Healing Art. In 2010, she moved to Abu Dhabi from Los Angeles CA where she created a studio to continue her career in the arts.  In the UAE, Wilma Burton is considered a pioneer in the field of healing art. She has taken part in two art exhibitions at the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and one at the Arsh Gallery in Dubai.

She has participated in international art exhibitions such as the prestigious Casa Battlo in Barcelona, Spain in April 2013. The artist has been commissioned in the US to create special art pieces for public figures and diplomats in Japan, England and Australia.
