Impressive Sunderland in his debut in the Qatar International Enduro winning both races in the E2 category.

Tycho Lieske and Mohammed Jaffar winners in the E1 category - Abdulla Al Ali and Obaid Al Kitbe winners in Quads category.
The second round of Qatar International Enduro took place today at Sealine with the participation of 29 riders in different categories, E1, E2 for bikes and quads.
Sam Sunderland, in his first participation in the Qatar International Enduro won both races of the round 2 with an excellent performance. The British rider is a Honda factory rider for Cross Country Rallys and an official rider in Honda Racing Team for Rally Dakar.
In the first race of the day, Sunderland lead the race from the beginning and gave no chance to the other competitors to follow his pace. He crossed the checkered flag with a gap of 3.18 with the second classified, the UAE KTM rider Mohammed Al Balooshi. Both of them are riding in the E2 category.
'I just finished my first race in Qatar and it was a really good race, nice layout of the track with some fast areas and technical places with nice mixture of terrain. I had a lot of fun, my Honda bike is really good.' Sunderland said at the end of the podium.
For Mohammed Al Balooshi it was a very good race as he hadn't rode since last week and he has some injures. 'Today there was no competition with Sunderland who is really fast, so I stayed strong in the second place for the points and I ride smart to finish the race and lead the championship' Al Balooshi stated at the end of race 1.
The third position in the E2 category was also for the UAE KTM rider Saeed Al Shenqiti. 'The competition was very tough with a nice battle with Al Balooshi and Al Ansari. I managed to get in the second place but when Al Balooshi passed me in the middle of the race I tried to keep my position for the championship.' Al Shenqiti said.
Regarding the E1 category, the winner was the German rider, Tycho Lieske with a Yamaha bike. During all the race, the Kuwaiti rider Mohammed Jaffar was leading his category but in the last corner he made a mistake and he lost the first place and finished in fourth position.
' It was a very tough race, I started in fourth place of my category and managed to came second quite quickly. I was lucky that Mohammed Jaffar had a problem in the last corner so I came in first position. ' Tycho said after winning the race in his category.
The second place of the E1 category was for Le Roy Botha from South Africa and third place was for Abdullah Al Shatti.
'Today the race was very strong , I was battling with my team mate Tyco Lieske and because of the the bad luck in the last turn of Mohammed Jaffar I finished in third place. I am very happy for my team and thanks to Balooshi Racing and my sponsor Future Tech Engineering.' Al Shatti said after the race.
In the Quad category the winner was Abdulla Nasser Al Ali from UAE with a Suzuki quad. Al Ali thanked QMMF for the organization of this championship and the good track.' I am happy for the race, I had a hard battle with my team-mate Obaid al Ketbi and I hope more participants will come in next rounds.' Al Ali said.
In the second race of the day, in the E2 category, the podium was exactly the same as the first race, with Sunderland leading from the start to the end. The UAE riders Al Balooshi and Al Shenqiti finished in second and third place respectively again.
Sunderland was very happy with his double win in his first participation and happy to came to Qatar for this event hoping to come in the future rounds.
'I am happy for my result in this second race. When I saw Jaffar behind me I played it safe, as he is in the E1 category, but when he was closer, I pushed harder, so he cannot catch me. I am leading the championship as Moaath had a mechanical problem and didn't get points in the second race.' Al Balooshi said at the end of race 2.
In the E1 category, this time, the Kuwaiti rider Mohammed Jaffar won in his category and didn't had any mistake. ' I gave everything in the second race after the mistake in race 1. Thanks to QMMF, my team Balooshi Racing and Future Tech Engeneering for their support. It was a very tough race at the beginning but I am very happy to win in my category and is an honour to ride behind my coach Al Balooshi who is in E2 category. I hope to keep the level in the next round' Jaffar said at the end of race 2.
Second and third place in the E1 category were again for Le Roy Botha and Abdullah Al Shatti as race 1.
In race 2, Obaid Al Ketbi from UAE was the winner in the Quads category. ' In the first race I had a problem with the quad but in the second race I push harder to win the race. I won the championship last season so I will try to win it again' Al Ketbi said after the race 2.
QMMF President, Mr. Nasser Khalifa Al Attiya expressed his happiness with the level of the competitors and the number of participants. He thanked to all the riders for participating and is very satisfied to see that they enjoyed taking part in this championship and hopes that more participants will come.
In the standings, in the E1 category, Abdulla Al Shatti is leading with 90 points. Mubarak Al Ali is second with 72 points and Barak Al Jasmi is third with 70 points.
Mohammed Al Balooshi is leading E2 category with 91 points and Moaah Al Ansari is second with 65 points. The third place is for Saeed Al Shenqiti with 58 points.
Obaid Al Kitbe is leading the Quad category with 50 points.
