Ramada Ajman completes distribution of 100,000 art sheets to students in the northern emirates

Ajman, UAE (October 21, 2013) – Around 100,000 students from different schools in the northern emirates will be busy in the next few weeks as they prepare their entries to Ramada Hotel & Suite Ajman's “Going Green” Art Competition. With the theme “Going Green: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”, the final submission of entries for the competition will be on 30th October.

The team of Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman headed by General Manager Iftikhar Hamdani has completed the distribution of the art sheets to students in Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Sharjah, Um Al Quwain and Fujairah. Majority of the students and teachers from the schools welcomed the initiative and expressed enthusiasm to start the activities.

Iftikhar Hamdani, General Manager, Ramada Hotel and Suites Ajman, said: “We are very pleased with the positive response from the schools during the distribution of the art sheets, as we witnessed the students' eagerness to participate and showcase their talents. This is an excellent opportunity for the children to learn about environmental protection at a young age, and to share their ideas on how they can contribute to this cause.”

Launched in September, the competition is open to students aged six to 12, and is divided into Grades II and III category and Grades IV and V category. Using crayons and water or oil paint, the entries must depict how children can contribute in the conservation of the environment through the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle approach.

The entries will be judged based on creativity, originality and relevance to the theme. There will be 12 judges composed of senior officials from the Ministry of Education and from Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman. Three winners per category will take home exciting prizes, plus consolation prizes for the top 100 students, to be presented in a special awarding ceremony on 27th November at Majestic Ballroom of Ramada Ajman.

The art competition is organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, and in association with UAE Ministry of Education. Main sponsors of the event include Ajman Bank, Tez Tour, JT Touristik, Pepsi, Fly Express, Wyndham Hotel Group, Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, Sharjah Free Zone Authority, Thampy Digital, Union Insurance and Travel Arabia.
