Volunteers making DIFF happen since 2004!

WE NEED YOU FOR THE 10TH EDITION
Dubai, October 20, 2013: Volunteers have been integral to the success of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) since the inaugural edition in 2004, over 6,000 volunteers have given their time and energy and as DIFF prepares for the 10th edition which takes place from December, 6th through to the 14th December, the role of DIFF volunteers has never been more important.
DIFF is now looking for for UAE Nationals and residents across the UAE to be a part of the action and volunteer for 10 exciting days when DIFF welcomes film fans, celebrities, industry professionals and media from around the world descend on Dubai to celebrate the best of Arab and international cinema. As our landmark 10th edition, we need a stellar team of volunteers to make the Festival an outstanding experience that exceeds expectations for all of our guests.
If you have an interest in film, love meeting new people and want to support film in the UAE we need you! Volunteer positions are available in all capacities from administration, box office, ushers, red carpet and events management, to marketing and media activities. From students through to film fans the opportunities are open to all applicants over the age of 15 that are outgoing, hardworking and team players. Selected applicants will have the opportunity to work as part of the dedicated, fun team that has been annually creating our highly successful and continually growing film festival.
The Festival's annual volunteer recruitment sessions, which showcase the array of volunteer positions across DIFF, will be held on the 8th, 9th and 12th of November at the Knowledge Village Conference Centre. The DIFF team will lead presentations for prospective applicants to learn more about the opportunities available, and responsibilities involved, in being part of a major international film festival. Potential recruits will also hear first-hand experience from past DIFF teams and returning volunteers.
Mohammed Alhousani, Senior Manager Human Resources and Administration at Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), said: "Every year, more than 750 volunteers help us create a global destination for discovering and showcasing excellence in Arab cinema and provide a platform for upcoming filmmakers. It's a wonderful event that truly brings out the best in people; the achievements of DIFF over the past 10 years would not have been possible without our volunteers infectious enthusiasm, huge smiles and unwavering dedication to creating an event that everyone in the UAE can be proud of.”
Sarra'a Al Shehi, a journalist for the official YouTube Channel and a volunteer on the red Carpet said: “The memories I take every year from DIFF are priceless. It's hard work but it's rewarding and to be involved in such a huge internationally renowned event is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I have met so many fantastic people, developed new skills, had a lot of laughs – it's just a great experience and I cherish every second.”
Anum Kidwai, who assisted in Guest Relations added: “It was a transformative experience and meeting so many likeminded people was great. It's such an honor to be part of an international event, the experience itself taught us a diverse set of new skills that will benefit us in our future careers. ”
Samina Yusuf, Volunteer Manager, Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), said: "The 6,000 volunteers that have devoted their time to DIFF since we launched the Festival back in 2004 have been critical to the success of Festival. They are the unsung and unpaid heroes who contribute hundreds of hours of voluntary work behind the scenes, without them DIFF wouldn't be possible and we applaud them.”

All Applicants who wish to volunteer must be over 15 years of age, UAE nationals or residents of the UAE.
