GAP Goes “BACK TO BLUE” This Fall

Gap celebrated the Fall ‘Back to Blue' campaign with an exciting in-store event which focused on the brand going back to its 1969 heritage and ultimately, its denim focus. The event saw a host of Gap fashionistas review the collection, while local celebrity bloggers, Tala Samman and Teresa Karpinska, created their favorite Gap looks and shared styling tips with enthusiastic Gap fans.

It was a fun gathering where customers could express what Blue means to them, pick a Gap Blue outfit and strike a pose at a professional photo-booth and be a star for the day while enjoying an array of delectable canapés and delicious blueberry-flavoured drinks through the evening. Well-known DJ, Lins, ensured that her mix of current hot tracks kept the atmosphere effervescent, as press and customers mingled and shopped the latest Gap collection.

Gap's collection of premium ‘Indigo' denim includes Slim Selvedge Jeans and Heritage Jackets, Henley and Pocket Tees, and a selection of fleeces, hoodies and shirts, while the women's collection embraces the sexy boyfriend jeans trend, as well as a variety of short and long-sleeved tops and accessories that have been produced using genuine indigo dyes.

The Gap Back to Blue Indigo Collection for women is inspired by a fashion story aptly titled, ‘Salt,' which reflects the fading shades of summer such as salt-washed grays and watery blues.  The slightly muted color palette adds a beautiful diversity to the collection.

The Men's Indigo Collection used the style story, ‘Sycamore' for its inspiration. Woven, lush greens teamed with vibrant violets contrast starkly against the unisex ‘Surplus' collection which includes practical performance khakis updated with pops of luminous yellow in beautiful textures and fabrications.

Stripes and dots are reiterated in Gap's slim cropped pants and woven collection, while a touch of monochrome in the women's ‘Work wear' collection gives a classic nod to the ‘60's. Merino V's Cotton Cardigans, teamed with Slim Stretch Solid Shirts dominate the men's classic look and trouser options include Tailored Slim, Classic Straight and Tailored Straight. Outerwear mirrors tradition and includes Wool Pea coats and classic Trenches.

As the season progresses, Gap gradually introduces the ‘Colorama' story as part of the Women's Collection, which embraces a smorgasbord of bold and bright shades, perfect for fall. Key items include Bella sweaters in solids and stripes and Novelty sweaters in polka dots and mixed stripes.

Cool candy colors infused with prints and pastel patterns with fresh printed plaids are teamed up with super skinny pants while Plaid and layering pieces such as Polka Dot Puffer Vests and Plaid Moto Jackets for women help to enhance the ultimate winter look.

The new collection is in stores since August 2013 and is available at all Gap stores in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
