Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Celebrates Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid's Legacy

Dubai, UAE, 13 July 2026: To celebrate the birthday of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library invites the public to take part in a rich cultural and artistic programme inspired by His Highness's literary, intellectual, and humanitarian legacy. Celebrating his remarkable journey as a visionary leader and distinguished poet, the programme reflects the values and aspirations that have shaped Dubai into a global model of innovation, ambition, and excellence. The event will take place on 15 July at 5:00 PM in the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library.

 

The programme will begin with the opening of an art exhibition titled Dubai Through the Eyes of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. Featuring the works of more than 70 artists from diverse nationalities, the exhibition will take visitors on a visual journey documenting Dubai's transformation. Through a collection of artworks and creative designs, it showcases the city's most significant milestones and landmark strategic projects inspired by His Highness's vision, including Burj Khalifa, Palm Jumeirah, and Emirates Airline, all of which have played a pivotal role in reinforcing Dubai's leading global position.

 

Complementing the visual arts, the Library will host a poetry evening titled "Poems from the Desert," featuring renowned Emirati poets Karim Maatouk, Hamda Al Murr, and Najat Al Dhaheri. The evening will celebrate the poetic legacy of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum through selected readings from his acclaimed poetry collection, highlighting the richness of Nabati poetry and its enduring influence on Emirati cultural identity.

 

The celebrations will conclude with a musical performance titled "Poems in Song," presented by Emirati artist Tariq Al Menhali, who will perform a selection of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's poems set to music. Blending poetry with melody, the performance pays tribute to the beauty of Nabati verse while celebrating its lasting place within the UAE's cultural heritage.
