Dubai, U.A.E, 4 May 2026: Mitch Evans produced one of the stand-out drives of the season in Round 8 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, charging from a P17 start to win the Berlin E‑Prix at the Tempelhof Street Circuit.
In a race defined by heavy energy saving, four‑wide pack racing and constant position changes, Evans executed a perfectly judged strategy that left him with a strong energy profile and ability to control the race from the front.
After opting to compromise qualifying to save tyres for the race, Mitch started from P17 on the grid – and in the early laps he waited patiently for the right point to move forward. A decisive six‑minute ATTACK MODE stint then launched him from P18 into the lead fight, and by lap 27 he emerged at the front with more energy than every rival behind him.
From there, Evans controlled the race with precision, extending his advantage even as the pack jostled behind. A second late ATTACK MODE activation gave him the tools to retake the lead and hold firm through the closing laps to secure his second win of the season. The result also marked Jaguar TCS Racing's fourth victory of the year, making them the only team to date with both drivers as double winners in Season 12.
António Félix da Costa showed strong pace and exceptional energy efficiency throughout, running as high as P2 and battling amongst an aggressive lead-pack. His race unravelled late after contact from Porsche's Nico Muller caused a puncture and forced a late pit stop, dropping him to P18 despite an otherwise competitive and strategically sharp performance.
Mitch Evans, Jaguar TCS Racing driver, said: "That was an amazing result after what's been a difficult weekend - and we worked hard for it. We've been struggling for one lap pace here, so I wanted to try something different - which is why I saved tyres for the race today.
The team backed me on that call - and then together we executed a perfect race. We were patient early on, then attacked at the right time and I felt comfortable once we got to the front. Now we'll look to take this momentum to Monaco which feels like a home race to me."
António Félix da Costa, Jaguar TCS Racing driver, said: "Today was a tough one to take. We had the pace, the efficiency, and the strategy to fight at the very front, and for a moment it felt like everything could come together. Unfortunately, the puncture ended our chances, but that's motorsport sometimes. I'm proud of the performance we showed as a team, and I'm really happy for Mitch and everyone at Jaguar TCS Racing for another win. As always, we will regroup and come back fighting."
Ian James, Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal, said: "What a difference a day makes. We came to Berlin knowing we needed to get points on the board and although we did that yesterday, it wasn't necessarily as many as we wanted. Today that turned around massively with an absolute masterclass from Mitch and the team. We knew that we were lacking on one-lap pace over the weekend so that ultimately informed our strategy today and it was executed with absolute perfection from both Mitch and the team.
Given António's strong pace over the weekend, we decided on a more conventional strategy for him which should have seen him score a strong haul of points as well but, due to his contact in the late stages of the race, we weren't able to capitalise on that as much as we would have liked.
I'm very happy for the team and proud of the momentum that we continue to carry – not only over the last few races but hopefully into Monaco too as we head to The Principality in two weeks' time."
Jaguar TCS Racing returns to the track for the Monaco E-Prix double-header, 16-17 May.
