Dubai – 18 March 2025: Dubai Customs continues to carry out the 'Sawa'ed Al-Furdah' initiative by distributing 30,000 iftar meals to road users and drivers at the traffic signal intersection near the Etihad Museum just before the Maghrib prayer during the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative is carried out every Saturday, distributing 7,500 meals, and is supported by the participation of Dubai Customs' executive directors, consultants, department heads, as well as representatives from diplomatic missions in Dubai, volunteers, and Dubai Customs employees.

'Sawa'ed Al-Furdah' is one of the sustainable community-driven initiatives launched by Dubai Customs during Ramadan, implemented by the Ghayath Volunteer Team. The initiative was first introduced nine years ago, aiming to reinforce the importance of charity work, foster social solidarity, and emphasize the UAE's role as a global leader in humanitarian and charitable efforts.

Mansoor Al-Malik, Executive Director for Policies and Legislation Division at Dubai Customs, emphasized that Dubai Customs is continuously working to expand and develop its charitable and community initiatives, with careful planning to ensure they meet the real needs of the community. By doing so, the aim is to achieve a positive impact through initiatives that benefit diverse groups within society, including visiting various locations to reach as many beneficiaries as possible. This contributes to the UAE's sustainable development goals and supports the objectives of Dubai's Social Agenda 33.

Al-Malik also acknowledged the strategic partnership with key stakeholders, particularly the Etihad Museum (Dubai Culture and Arts Authority), which plays a vital role in enhancing the impact of these initiatives in the community. Through this collaboration, both Dubai Customs and its partners work towards achieving shared goals that bring mutual benefits to both the organization and the community.

He further thanked the representatives from diplomatic missions in Dubai for their participation, noting that their presence further strengthened the spirit of solidarity and giving.

Representatives from diplomatic missions in Dubai also expressed their gratitude for the initiative, praising the efforts of Dubai Customs in promoting a culture of humanitarianism and volunteerism. They stressed the importance of supporting such events, as they strengthen the spirit of cooperation and solidarity among the diverse nationalities and cultures residing in the UAE.
