Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 10 July 2024: Tawam hospital recently demonstrated the remarkable expertise of its medical team with their timely intervention in saving the life of a 15-year-old Emirati boy who was in critical condition following a severe car accident that resulted in significant brain haemorrhage.
The young patient, who had fallen into a coma and was unresponsive, was swiftly transported to Tawam Hospital’s emergency department, part of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA). The hospital's skilled medical emergency trauma team in the children's emergency unit implemented advanced resuscitation techniques to stabilise the boy.
An urgent CT scan revealed a severe brain haemorrhage, placing substantial pressure on delicate brain tissues and posing an immediate threat to his life. The pediatric Intensivist team, led by Dr. Nidal Omar Al-Hashaykeh, Head of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Tawam Hospital, stabilized the patient’s condition and provided necessary supportive care, enabling the young patient to make a remarkable recovery and regain his neurological functions almost entirely.
