Dubai Health Authority Hosts Clinical Exams for Arab Board Specialisations 2024

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, June 11, 2024: The Dubai Health Authority( DHA) hosted the clinical exams for paediatric, emergency, and family medicine specialisations under the Arab Board of Health Specialisations until May 2024, with the participation of over 120 doctors from within and outside the country. This marks the first nationwide electronic examination system implemented across the Arab world, covering all examination centers.
Concurrently, digitally-administered clinical exams took place across Arab countries, involving over 120 doctors from the UAE, GCC countries, and neighboring Arab nations. The exams aimed to evaluate knowledge, skills, and professional behaviours essential for healthcare practice, adhering to international examination standards.
Dr. Marwan Al Mulla, CEO of DHA’s Health Regulation Sector emphasised that Dubai's hosting of these exams signifies confidence in the Emirate's robust healthcare infrastructure and its effectiveness in organising specialised exams. This solidifies Dubai's position as a regional hub and global academic examination destination.
Furthermore, hosting these exams highlights the authority's commitment to supporting medical education by providing a secure environment for tests, practical training, and academic development. It underscores ongoing support for the leading Arab Board in healthcare specialisations, contributing to enhancing the medical system in the region with skilled professionals across various medical disciplines.
Dr. Professor Yousif El Tayeb, Dean of Dubai Medical College for Girls, expressed pride in the college hosting these exams, reflecting the confidence of the Dubai Health Authority and the Arab Board of Health Specialisations in the college's advanced digital infrastructure. He emphasised that the college has been and continues to be a strategic partner and an active contributor to the success of this academic event by providing logistical support. He appreciated the significant support from the Board of Trustees of the Saeed Ahmed Lootah Charity Foundation and their unwavering dedication to education and scientific research, ensuring the college remains a beacon of knowledge and science in the region.
Dr. Wadeia Mohammad Sharif, Director of Medical Education and Research Department (MERD) at the DHA, stated that the Arab Board of Health Specialisations will announce the exam results within a month of the exam date. A doctor who passes the exam successfully will be eligible to obtain a professional license to practice as a specialist.
She highlighted that 126 training opportunities were provided by the Dubai Health Authority within the medical education system for the private healthcare sector, for doctors in the initial phase, to introduce residency and fellowship programmes. This included 36 specialised programmes in 13 hospitals and medical centres in the private sector in Dubai.
