This is evidenced by the fact that many urban cities, service projects, schools, and hospitals in different countries still bear his name to this day, as a tribute to his memory and noble deeds, and as an expression of the appreciation of its people for his humanitarian contributions and positive impact.

Today, the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) is inspired by the humanitarian legacy of Sheikh Zayed and his commitment to giving and doing good. DMT is implementing urban and infrastructure development projects and plans that aim to build smart cities, sustainable public facilities, and infrastructure. It is also updating and constructing an integrated transportation system that meets the highest global standards. DMT places a strong focus on the well-being of the people it serves, making their happiness and prosperity its ultimate goal.
