First workshop to be held in Sharjah on June 15 to present tools and strategies for promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace, two more workshops planned in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Sharjah, June 08, 2022: In line with its commitment to promote the business case for women’s empowerment, NAMA Women Advancement (NAMA) is hosting a series of workshops, through its initiative Irtiqa, under the theme ‘The Future of Work is Gender Inclusive’ in the emirates of Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. The series is aimed at helping businesses understand where they stand on gender equality and support the implementation of gender-inclusive strategies.
The first of the three action-oriented workshops titled ‘How to make Gender Equality a Strategic Priority in the Workplace’ will be held on June 15 at Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa. This workshop will be the starting point where participants will learn about the importance of gender equality in the workplace, how to assess progress on gender equality, and develop a roadmap towards achieving gender-inclusive businesses.
The two-hour workshop will bring participants from top-tier companies to share experiences and insights on promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Recognising that the private sector can be an important catalyst for closing gender gaps, the workshop series are designed to address the unique context and operation of companies based in the UAE and enhance understanding of gender-inclusive practices in today’s workplace. Participants will also have an opportunity to learn more about Irtiqa’s customised approach to helping businesses progress on their gender equality journey.
Commenting on the launch of the workshops, HE Reem BinKaram, Director, NAMA, said: “Irtiqa is committed to promoting women’s greater participation in businesses, communities and economies, and we are confident that the new workshop series will highlight the business and social value of women’s economic inclusion. The workshops aim to drive change by raising awareness, expanding knowledge of the importance of integrating gender equality in the workplace, and presenting participants with tools and strategies to promote diversity and inclusion in a meaningful way.
