
April 07, 2022: In a statement on World Health Day, His Excellency Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, said: 'On this day, we celebrate the accomplishments of the UAE's health sector over the past 50 years, in which the country has successfully established an integrated world-class healthcare system.
'In doing so, the country has become a global model to be emulated in terms of readiness, resilience, and response to ongoing changes, in addition to being the fastest in decision-making and leading future pathways, in accordance with the objectives of the Fifty-Year Charter and the UAE Centennial 2071,' added Al Owais.
The minister underlined that the credit for this success and development is attributed to the guidance and forward-looking vision of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, besides the unwavering support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
He pointed out that the wise leadership has attached the highest importance to the healthcare sector by developing an ambitious roadmap seeking to create innovative solutions to challenges and strengthen the health system's capacities, making the country lead several competitive and quality indicators in healthcare services.
Al Owais cited the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces: 'Medicine and food is a red line for us and don't worry, stressing that such words were a source of reassurance and optimism for the UAE people that the country has been able to beat the Covid-19 pandemic.
He affirmed that the World Health Organization's adoption of the UAE government accelerators model is yet another testament to the efficiency and excellence in the management and governance of the health sector.
The health minister thanked the health personnel in the first line of defense and all workers in the health sector for their tremendous efforts to protect the health of community members, emphasizing that the UAE is moving steadily to achieve global leadership.
