40th Sharjah International Book Fair is connecting with visitors on a deeper level through creative posters that have brought its meaningful theme to life
Sharjah, November 04, 2021: Visitors to the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) 2021 are overwhelmed by the symbolic designs and images that adorn the book fair venues walls and walkways, celebrating the theme of its 40th edition, ‘There’s always a right book.’
Images that spoke volumes piqued visitors’ interest while visually conveying Sharjah’s message to the world that every individual will connect with books that align with their interests. The attractive posters are a creative interpretation of Sharjah Book Authority (SBA)’s global campaign, ‘Into Books’, with its memorable slogan ‘If you’re into something, you’re into books’.
The vibrant images draped over the walls are speaking to the visitors personally, appealing to their interests, whether artistic, scientific, cultural, culinary, sports or space, and encouraging them to search for their interests in books. The images include – a male reader holding a book and half of his head has turned into a camera. A woman reader’s head is turning into a cooking vessel, reflecting what she is reading. Yet another reader’s head has become a planet that navigates the universe.
Such symbolic images not only sparked dialogue at the venue but also stoked visitor interest in the events being staged at the milestone edition of SIBF, in which 1,673 publishing houses from 85 countries are participating. More than 15 million books, including 110,000+ titles which have debuted in SIBF will be accessible to book lovers throughout the 11-day celebration of literature, knowledge, and culture.
