Dubai Municipality's “Way Beyond Standard Contracts and Procurement Process” initiative wins 7-star rating

Dubai, 22 June 2021: Dubai Municipality, represented by the Contracts and Purchasing Department, won the 2021 International Best Practices Award for its initiative, “the way beyond standard contract and procurement process” winning with a 7-star rating as the best global model out of 68 global participations in the global best practices category.
The initiative aims to adopt ways to enhance innovation in the field of contracts and purchasing, by encouraging technical solutions and technology. The initiative is based on a digital roadmap, which included the creation of data warehouse, smart purchasing systems, high-standard operational standards and customer-centric concepts and their needs.
The International Best Practices Award aims to honor institutions with pioneering achievements and contributions, aimed at consolidating a culture of innovation in all aspects of their operations, and upgrading global practices in the field of innovation. The evaluation criteria of the award included: leadership and strategic planning, training and employment of innovation and continuous development, tools and methods for innovation processes, managing ideas and best practices, facilities and resources, spreading a culture of innovation among employees, relationships with partners by building effective internal and external communication networks, and measuring innovation performance.
Dubai Municipality has achieved outstanding achievements in these criteria, winning the praise of all members of the jury. Its commitment to strengthening the innovation and knowledge system, knowledge exchange activities, and spreading the culture of innovation in projects and services was evident, and it achieved the best results in measuring the impact of innovation management practices.
