Eros Group Wins 4-Star Taqdeer Award

UAE - 02, June 2021: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, Eros Group was honoured a 4-star award in the fourth edition of the Taqdeer Award along with 77 workers and companies. The award recognises excellence in labour welfare practices and was attended by government department heads, senior officials, representatives of regional and international organisations, professionals from both public and private sectors, members of the diplomatic corps and the media.
Deepak Babani, Executive Vice Chairman of Eros Group said, “The Group’s first attempt was in 2018 where we secured a 3-star during the 3rd cycle of Taqdeer Awards. Now in the 4th cycle we are proud to secure a 4-star upon showing improvements in our policies, processes and initiatives for blue-collared employees, especially during the onset of Covid-19. Eros Group is committed to protect its employees at all times and our objective is to continue to keep the blue-collar employee’s headcount in line with the business recovery plans and strategies.”

Eros Group is renowned in its efforts to invest in the health and well-being of its employees and prides itself in having a culture of fairness and transparency without any discrimination and is committed to fair employment practices during the employee lifecycle, enabling them to learn new skills, develop and grow within the company. The Group manages five accommodations for around 380 blue-collar employees in the UAE with high quality standards of hygiene, recreational and entertainment facilities. Eros also manages over 150 fleet, including 12 air-conditioned shuttle buses to facilitate employee transfers to-and-from accommodation and workplace.
The fourth edition of the Taqdeer Award, part of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme, has been able to achieve significant progress in promoting better relationships between the companies and workers. They also launched a wider campaign to raise awareness about precautionary measures to ensure the safety of workers at their workplaces.
The key achievements of the fourth edition of the Award include:
• 55, 000 workers in Dubai will get Excellence privilege cards to enjoy between 25 to 50 per cent discounts on retail and restaurants near their camps.
• 35 government incentives provided by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Dubai Municipality, and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai (GDRFA-Dubai)
• Distribution of millions of protective masks, gloves and meals to workers by the Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs (PCLA) in Dubai in coordination with the relevant authorities.
• Organisation of field awareness campaigns in different languages and several virtual awareness campaigns to educate employees of companies and millions of workers in Dubai and the UAE about COVID-19 precautionary measures in their accommodation and workplaces.
