Dubai Health Authority and Dubai Healthcare City Authority Sign MoU to Strengthen Partnership

United Arab Emirates, September 21, 2020: MoU aims to strengthen cooperation and partnership between the two entities in various medical fields including insurance, transfer of permits of health professionals, education, medical training and research.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 21 September 2020: The Dubai Health Authority(DHA) signed today a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Dubai Healthcare City Authority(DHCA).
The MoU was signed at the DHA headquarters by H.E. Humaid Al Qutami, Director-General of the DHA and H.E. Jamal Abdulsalam, CEO of DHCA in the presence of senior officials from both sides.
The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation and partnership between the two entities in various medical fields including insurance, transfer of permits of health professionals, education, medical training and research.
Some of the specific areas of collaboration include:
• Coordination and cooperation in the field of health insurance.
• Developing health services provided by both parties and seeking to standardize and facilitate the procedures of authorization or transfer of permits of health professionals in the Emirate of Dubai in accordance with the provisions of the applicable legislation.
• Cooperation in the field of permit mechanisms, inspection of health facilities, medical complaints, exchange of expertise and training in this field.
• Strengthening the relationship and integrating roles between the two parties to contribute to the development of the fields of education, medical training, research, medical residency programs, fellowship programs and clinical training.
• Cooperation and coordination in the fields of therapeutic, diagnostic, preventive and public health medicine.
Al Qutami said that DHA is working continuously to further strengthen the health sector in the Emirate and that the DHA is keen to strengthen and foster relationships with local and international healthcare organizations and institutions and that the DHA recognizes the importance of knowledge-transfer and sharing experiences which is particularly important in the health sector with an aim to provide the highest quality of patient-centered care.
He highlighted the important role played by the DHCA as a distinctive authority for specialized free zones. He emphasized on the importance of the relationship between the two entities and the value of cooperation especially in key healthcare areas.
Abdulsalam said: "We are constantly improving the quality, upgrading and regulating healthcare services in the free zone to meet the needs of the public and the needs of patients who are always seeking innovative and high quality healthcare. Through this strategic partnership with the DHA, the DHCA is keen to cooperate and facilitate knowledge-transfer. We are keen to harness our expertise to serve the health sector, to benefit of the communities we serve.”
