Move falls in line with efforts to achieve paperless government framework as envisioned in Dubai Paperless Strategy
UAE, July 25, 2020 - Dubai Government Workshop has revealed the completion of the smart transformation process for the exit of repaired vehicles. The achievement falls in line with Dubai Paperless Strategy and its vision to create a perfectly integrated paperless government through the transformation of government services and operations into 100% digital operation by 2021.
This move will result in getting rid of printing more than a hundred daily exit permits, which will help save on time and effort of customers and employees as permit issuance will not exceed the period that a vehicle needs to reach the exit gate of DGW's repair facilities. The new digital process highlights DGW's commitment towards enhancing customer experience while also maintaining the safety of its fleet. Under the process, any electronic permit will be considered void if the vehicle does not leave the workshop within 72 hours of the permit's issuance.
H.E. Fahad Ahmed Al-Raeesi CEO of DGW, said, "As a leading government entity in the field of vehicle maintenance and repair, DGW remains steadfast in its efforts to transform into smart, digital, paperless transactions - complementing Dubai government's directive to eliminate more than 1 billion papers used for government transactions per annum. This step embodies our eagerness to be at pace with strategic trends in adopting best governance practices to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability in employing government resources and consolidate a culture of excellence as the cornerstone for improving the level of services provided."
"This initiative aims to get rid of the process of printing vehicle paper permits and facilitate a more accurate and faster way to complete the transactions and improve customer satisfaction.
This smart process reaffirms our commitment towards implementing the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform Dubai into a fully-digital government," he added.
In applying a smart transformation of vehicle exit process, DGW utilizes specific mechanisms requiring the issuance of electronic permits once the procedures are completed. The customer will then proceed with the vehicle to exit from the main gate where a designated security personnel will identify the authorized vehicle through the plate number located on a tablet in front of him.
The new service is part of DGW's electronic transformation efforts. The workshop has successfully increased its electronic services from 25 to 39 over the last two years. These electronic services include the Mazadati application, Khadamati application, Customer Portal of Fleet Management System, Smart Examination, Institutional Support Platform and Violations System, among others, which are all aimed at employing advanced technologies in the creation of an integrated system of government work.
