Initiative aimed at further enhancing human capital development
July 18, 2020: As part of its continuing commitment towards appreciating the key dedication of its staff in the efforts to provide the best innovative services based on solid foundations and high standards to support the economic growth and prosperity of the emirate of Ajman, the Human Resources Department of Ajman Free Zone (AFZ) has revealed the launching of 'Hafez,' a rewards and recognition program that demonstrates a step forward in the move to support its staff, which is one of the free zone's top strategic priorities.
According to AFZ senior officials, 'Hafez' is part of an integrated system of legislation, initiatives, and incentive programs that has been especially developed to help improve human capabilities and enhance workforce’s performance in a competitive and positive work environment, which in turn, is expected to increase levels of productivity and achieve the ultimate satisfaction and happiness of staff and customers.
Engineer Ali Abdulla Bin Towaih Al Suwaidi, Director General, Ajman Free Zone, said: "The new rewards and recognition program, 'Hafez,' bears great significance to the AFZ as it looks towards expanding the scope of moral support that could enhance our staff' productivity and create a conducive work environment that stimulates innovation, creativity and excellence, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of AFZ. The initiative serves as a testament to the free zone's commitment to create a happy, healthy and positive workplace, in line with the vision of the UAE's wise leadership to achieve prosperity and happiness for all in Ajman."
"We are confident that this new initiative will help pave the way for us to achieve more positive results--especially across performance indicators within organizational units, while the highest quality of services as provided by the free zone to meet expectations and needs of the customers, as well as support investors to take advantage of the promising opportunities of the business and investment community in Ajman and UAE" he added.
The 'Hafez' initiative was developed by AFZ’s Human Resources Department and is divided into two categories--the 'You Deserve Category' and the 'Our Heroes Category.' The first category is focused on giving recognition to the staff upon completion of long years of service--be it five, ten, 15 or 20 years of service, or upon achieving an important accomplishment that helps in consolidating the free zone's reputation and position as a driving force of economic growth in the UAE. The second category aims at recognizing the distinguished employees in the various departments of the free zone. Under this category, a hero is chosen from each organizational unit and recognized four times a year, once every three months.
On a separate note, the Human Resources Department of AFZ has recently launched an e-training system for all of its employees during the period of remote working, where the team has adapted to work remotely during the Covid-19 crisis. The move falls in line with the continuing efforts aimed at enhancing and developing the competencies and skills of employees by utilizing the latest online training programs. In May of this year, the AFZ successfully completed the training of more than 120 employees.
