On Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day
June 26, 2020: Small and Medium-sized Enterprises represent a strategic importance for us--they are a major engine for growth and development in the UAE, contribute a large share in the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and constitute one of the most important sectors that support production. They are key to achieving economic diversification and promoting investments within the youth segment.
On June 27 of each year, the whole world celebrates Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day -- an important occasion that commemorates the important role that these companies play in the achievement of sustainable development and social and economic well-being. This special day highlights the process of developing local and global economies--through increasing employment opportunities, providing additional resources to diversify income and improving the standard of living of individuals.
In line with the directives of the UAE government to support entrepreneurship and promote the vital SME sector that contributes greatly to the global economy, Ajman Free Zone looks forward to undertaking more efforts and endeavors to extend further support to SMEs by supporting the procurement policy of contracts with this promising group and launching special packages to help realize their business aspirations. These efforts have led to an increase in the number of micro and small companies within the Free Zone. Today, more than 5,000 companies operate here thanks to Ajman Free Zone’s commitment to supporting them in their growth journeys. We will continue to mentor them and share our expertise and knowledge to empower them while also offering guidance to innovators and future pioneers looking to invest and establish businesses in the Emirate of Ajman.
