Nuria Iturrios wins the inaugural 2019 OMEGA Dubai Moonlight Classic

 

May 5th 2019, Dubai, UAE: Following three days of enthralling and exciting golf, the first-ever OMEGA Dubai Moonlight Classic has concluded in victory for Nuria Iturrios from Spain. The golfer, who played strongly throughout the competition, finished with a 1 stroke lead on the renowned Faldo course at Emirates Golf Club.

 

The victory earns Nuria Iturrios a trophy, winner’s cheque and a brand new OMEGA Speedmaster 38mm. This special timepiece features a stainless steel and 18K Sedna™ gold case with a unique dual bezel design with diamonds and the famous tachymeter scale on a brown aluminium ring. The “cappuccino” dial includes elegant horizontal oval subdials, while inside, the watch is driven by the OMEGA Co-Axial Calibre 3330.

The OMEGA Dubai Moonlight Classic was previously known as the OMEGA Dubai Ladies Classic and was traditionally played as the Ladies European Tour’s season-ending tournament in December. In a pioneering change, the three-day event is now played earlier in the season and has become the world’s first professional day-night golf tournament. 

 

Over the course of the tournament, the event incorporated two separate competitions. 

 

- From Wednesday to Friday, a three day individual tournament was played between 56 professional players.

- On Wednesday and Thursday, the professionals were each joined by a team of amateur players (168 in total) for a two day Tour Scramble competition. 

 

It was the ProAm rounds on the Wednesday and Thursday that featured the day/night action under the Faldo Course floodlights.
