• Jiu-Jitsu Hub roadshow has toured several public locations spreading the jiu-jitsu message, with Yas Mall the next stop from 12-13 April
• Outreach underlines Abu Dhabi’s position as the home of jiu-jitsu

Abu Dhabi, UAE – Thursday 11th April 2019:   The UAE public has come out in force to embrace the sport of jiu-jitsu and its values as part of an expansive community outreach programme launched by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation (UAEJJF), the official authority for the sport in the Emirates, ahead of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship (ADWPJJC) 2019.

The outreach roadshow, designed to raise awareness of the sport to all members of society and share its values of  tolerance, respect, loyalty, teamwork and appreciation, has visited a host of key public locations, including malls and parks across Abu Dhabi with athletes giving jiu-jitsu demonstrations and spectators getting the opportunity to play their part in building on the championship’s legacy at the interactive Jiu-Jitsu hub.

So far, the roadshow has visited Ripe Market at Umm Al Emarat Park, Bawadi Mall in Al Ain Marina Mall Abu Dhabi, Al Wahda Mall and Reem Central Park.
UAE residents of all ages and nationalities have posed for their own special jiu-jitsu-themed pictures at the hub and gained insights into the sport, including the sacrifice of the athletes in their pursuit of glory and realising their dreams of appearing at the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship.

“A major objective for this year was to build on the tremendous success of the past 10 editions of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship and continue to spread the values of jiu-jitsu to as wide an audience as possible. The response to the outreach programme has been extremely positive and local communities have shown a keen interest to learn more about our sport,” said Mohammed Hussain Al Marzouqi, Director of Marketing and Finance, UAEJJF.

“With high levels of engagement with the country’s youth – the next generation of jiu-jitsu heroes – the future of the sport in Abu Dhabi and beyond looks bright.”

The community outreach programme now moves on to Yas Mall on 12 and 13 April, where mall-goers will be able to visit the interactive Jiu-Jitsu Hub between 10 am and 10 pm at the Boulevard in the mall.

The Master classes demonstrations will also visit the Al Muneera Community on 12 April, while the Ji-Jitsu Hub moves to Abu Dhabi Mall from 16-17 April.
