Ministry of Health and Prevention Announces its Participation in the “National Sports Day” activities

Al Owais: A sports initiative illustrates the country of happiness, tolerance, and crossroads of culture
Al Rand: A consolidation of intimacy and positive spirit notions in an atmosphere of recreational sport activities
UAE, Dubai, March 2, 2019: The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has announced its participation in the events of the 4th edition of the “UAE National Sports Day” initiative, which will be held on March 7, under the theme “Emirates Unite US”.
This initiative aims at strengthening the positive interaction among the social fabric that gathers community segments including multi nationalities and cultures living peacefully and happily in the UAE.
The UAE: The Tolerant Oasis
H.E Abdulrahman bin Mohamed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, emphasized the importance of the National Sports Day, in accordance with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s initiative.
The Minister added: “This is a sport day, which epitomizes the cohesion of community segments and reflects the intimacy, harmony and positive interaction among multi-cultures, in a framework of community activities which encourage the physical activity, so as to raise the profile of the cohesive, vibrant and innovative UAE society, which enjoys health and well-being as well as productivity in the tolerant UAE oasis.”
Al Owais shed the light on the noble goals of the National Sports Day, which embodies the cohesive of community segments, and reflects the spirit of harmony and positive interaction. This will contribute to enhancing the spirit of communication and coexistence among citizens and residents on the land of UAE.
“The day, also, represents a good chance to recall the importance of the physical activity, and to focus on the prevention of chronic diseases, the matter that will help strengthen values of citizenship and community responsibility,” Al Owais noted.
Underlining the Unity and Positive Coexistence Among Multi Cultures
H.E. Dr. Hussein Abdel-Rahman Al-Rand, Undersecretary of the Ministry’s Health Assistant Sector, Health Centers and Clinics, stressed the importance of MoHAP’s participation in this national event, the matter that allows the direct communication among members of the society which comprises diverse nationalities and races.
“Furthermore, the participation consolidates notion of intimacy and positive spirit, in an atmosphere of recreational sport activities, as it’s considered a method for bringing nations closer and living safely and peacefully on the land of UAE, so as to achieve the noble goals of underlining the unity and positive coexistence among multi-cultures,” Al Rand added.
Al Rand said: “Through this participation, MoHAP will highlight the activities of “Your Health Comes First” campaign, as part of the National Initiative “Promote the Awareness of Healthy Lifestyle”, which aims at adopting a healthy lifestyle and engaging in physical activity to reduce the prevalence of non-communicable diseases.”
Innovative Sports Activities
On this occasion, MoHAP is planning to organize lots of innovative events and diverse sports activities in all medical districts and healthcare facilities, with the participation of employees and clients.
The purpose of these events and activities are to reflect the positive value of the involvement in physical activity and its impact on society’s health and achievement of MoHAP’s vision towards sustainable health for all people, by consolidating the awareness of physical and sports behavior and adopting a healthy lifestyle that prevents diseases.
