Dubai, UAE, December 12, 2018: Young photographers are invited to develop their creative skills at two empowering, inclusive, and fun Unified Photography Workshops taking place at Abu Dhabi’s Manarat Al Saadiyat.
A collaboration between the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019, the U.S. Embassy and AMIDEAST, the sessions are open to children aged 7 to 12 years old.
Open to boys and girls with and without intellectual disabilities, the Unified Photography Workshop will be held in the photography studio at the world-class art center and gallery on Friday, December 14 from 10am to noon. The second session will be held in the afternoon, from 3pm to 5pm.
Photography, like art and sport, can unite children through their shared love of creativity and exploration, learning new skills, and interacting with others.
Each session will be hosted by professional photographers who will engage with the youngsters and lead them through activities that have been designed to expand their artistic talents in an environment of respect, inclusivity and learning.
The Unified Photography Workshops are part of the Art Unified program of community events that will take place across the UAE to raise awareness of Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019, which will run from March 14 – 21, 2019.
The biggest sporting and humanitarian event of the year, the World Games aims to help build a society based around openness and community, which is in line with Abu Dhabi and the UAE’s National Vision for a unified and inclusive society.
