Dubai, United Arab Emirates, July 22, 2018:   The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) began its one-month summer training program for 170 E¬mirati students as part of its efforts to develop national talent in the medical sector.

The launch of the program took place in collaboration with Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences at Dubai Healthcare City.

Amna Al Suwaidi, Director of Human Resources at the DHA said, “Fostering national talent in the medical sector is a key strategic objective of the DHA. Summer training has multiple advantages for students; it provides them with valuable experience and exposure to a given field that they otherwise would not have during regular studies. It helps them understand the day-to-day requirements, work culture and skills needed to pursue their career.”

Al Suwaidi added that the DHA has undertaken many programs to ensure a steady flow of Emiratis in the health sector.

Meead Ali, Head of Talent Management Office at the DHA said, “The summer training program is for secondary school and college students.  We organize several workshops and field visits so that they can make the most of this opportunity.”

She added that the DHA team guides students and provides them with insight about the most-required talent in the medical sector so that they can chalk out their career path keeping these factors in mind.
