Al Fahim to provide 85 vehicles to Special Olympics IX MENA Games Abu Dhabi 2018

Sponsorship includes 70 Mercedes Benz and 15 Jeep Grand Cherokee cars
14th March, 2018, ABU DHABI: UAE-based conglomerate, ALFAHIM, has been confirmed as an official sponsor of Special Olympics IX MENA Games Abu Dhabi 2018 at a signing ceremony in Abu Dhabi today.
As part of the agreement the family-run ALFAHIM will provide 85 vehicles, made up of 70 Mercedes-Benz and 15 Jeep Grand Cherokee cars, to be used for 10 days by Special Olympics committee members, heads of delegations, VIPs and honored guests.
The signing at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi, was attended by H.E. Mohammed Abdulla Al Junaibi, Chairman of the Higher Committee of Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019; Peter Wheeler, CEO of Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019; and Ahmed Abdul Jalil Al Fahim, Chairman of ALFAHIM.
The 85 vehicles include several luxury and high-performance models. The Mercedes-Benz models include four G-500, three E300 Avantgarde, two S500L AMG and three GLE43 AMG Coupe. The Jeep vehicles are all Grand Cherokee Limited editions.
Speaking after the signing, Al Junaibi said: “The official sponsors of Special Olympics IX MENA Games Abu Dhabi 2018 are vital in recognising the magnitude of the games and enforcing the pillars of inclusion and community. ALFAHIM is one of Abu Dhabi’s most respected companies and it’s a great partnership for Special Olympics UAE to secure.
“The Games will be a huge logistical operation and having the support of ALFAHIM in transporting our committee members, delegation heads and VIPs across the different venues will be invaluable to a smooth and successful event.”
At the ceremony, Al Fahim stated, “We are proud to be affiliated with the Special Olympics IX MENA Games and contribute to Abu Dhabi’s vision of full inclusion of people of determination in all aspects of life.

Special Olympics IX MENA Games, which runs from March 17-22, will run across several of Abu Dhabi’s world-class venues, including ADNEC, Zayed Sports City, Yas Marina Circuit, NYUAD, Officer’s Club, Mubadala IPC Arena, Al Jazira Sports Club and Al Forsan Club.
Abu Dhabi will be the first city ever to host both the MENA and World Games within a year of each another. The MENA Games and World Games are a part of the UAE’s National Vision 2021 that highlights the full integration of people with disabilities into society. The Games will be the most ‘unified’ in history and promise to offer an inclusive experience for those with and without intellectual disabilities.
More than 1,000 athletes from 31 countries will take part in 16 sports including athletics, badminton, basketball, bocce, bowling, cycling, equestrian, football, gymnastics, handball, power lifting, roller skating, swimming, table tennis, tennis and volleyball.
Special Olympics IX MENA Games and Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 are a part of the UAE’s National Vision 2021 that highlights full integration of people of determination into everyday society. Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 will see the biggest humanitarian sporting event in the world coming to the Emirati Capital, marking its first debut in the history of the MENA region.
