Dubai, UAE, 13th March 2018: Dubai Customs participated in Careers UAE 2018 in its 17th year, organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre from 13 to 15 March 2018 under the theme “Innovative workplace searches for you”. The participation is part of Dubai Customs efforts to qualify and develop national human capital, being a main pillar of the UAE Vision 2021.
On the first day, Dubai Customs launched its “Innovation in Customs” initiative that helped showcase the innovations of its employees. The initiative serves also as an interactive platform to help male and female nationals learn about the innovative environment at Dubai Customs.
Farid Hassan Al Marzouqi, Executive Director – Human Resources, Finance and Administration Division said: “Dubai Customs continues its strategic approach aimed at headhunting and recruiting highly-competent UAE nationals to be part of its workforce. Careers UAE 2018 is a major career fair in the UAE and a good chance for us to meet talented UAE nationals in all fields as part of our plans to support Dubai 10X and other visions and plans”.
The HR Director pointed out that 90% is the targeted nationalization percentage compared to 87% in 2017, which makes it the highest Emiratization percentage in government departments in Dubai. Customs officers, who make 46% of the Department’s cadre, are all Emirati (100%). There will also be a 2% room for people of determination.
The over 100-year-old department announces 132 vacancies for Emiratis during the event. These will be in customs development, IT, HR, inspection, administrative affairs, strategy, customs tariff, legal affairs, finance, and customs auditing.
On her part, Iman Al Abdouli, Senior Recruitment Manager in Dubai Customs said the department helps support developmental plans, such as the paperless city initiative, to materialize big future agendas following the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
