DHL partners with ‘Friends of Cancer Patients' to support cancer recovery in the UAE

Dubai, 6th March 2018:  DHL, the world leader in express and logistics has extended their support through a logistical partnership with the Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP). As a logistical partner, DHL will transport shipments containing donated hair for wigs to selected locations in the UAE.

Friends of Cancer Patients is a non-profit organization, founded in 1999 under the directives and patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah in the UAE. 

The organization is committed to helping cancer patients and their families get through the journey of cancer treatment, and delivers moral and financial support.

Dr Sawsan Al Madhi, Director General of Friends of Cancer Patients also commented: “Locks of Hope” is a hair donation initiative that aims to help restore Cancer patients’ self-esteem and confidence, enabling them to face the world in a positive outlook. Logistics is a significant part of our process and we’re confident that DHL will be able to ensure the timely deliveries of our packages, which will go a long way in supporting FoCP’s cancer patients morally.”

DHL actively contributes towards helping patients fight cancer and also supports cancer research and development through special services including Medical Express, Clinical TrialLogistics, Lifeconex and Same Day Delivery.

Earlier this year, DHL concluded their ‘DHL’s Got Heart’ initiative, a campaign that recognised its employees for their tremendous charitable work that positively impacts the lives of people and communities around the world. Over 400 entries across DHL network were recorded, reinforcing DHL’s commitment which the organization has towards contribution and betterment of individuals and communities worldwide.
