HBMSU and Red Crescent in Dubai discuss cooperation opportunities in volunteerism and humanitarian works

UAE, February 26, 2018 - Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), recently highlighted the importance of commitment to instill generosity and other positive values among the young generation and make them as role models in advancing the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s vision of raising the UAE’s reputation as a leading nation in promoting different aspects of humanitarian work. This statement came during a meeting with Mohammed Abdullah Al Zarooni, Director of the Emirates Red Crescent in Dubai and accompanying delegation, who visited HBMSU to discuss possible areas of cooperation in charity projects that benefit humanity.
Dr. Al Awar and the university officials, noted the available opportunities where learners, faculties and administrative staff can be involved such as voluntary programs and initiatives that support the continuous humanitarian efforts spearheaded by the UAE’s leadership to strengthen the country’s humanitarian efforts and reach out to people and countries in need.
He also committed to continue the journey of excellence in preparing highly qualified generation - academically, scientifically and socially – to build a future that honors the noble principles of the UAE society, such as giving, cooperation, and brotherhood.
Mohammed Al Zarooni, noted the importance of partnerships and cooperation between the Red Crescent and different academic and educational institutions to promote humanitarian values and social responsibility, as well as honing innovative minds that could create humanitarian solutions in line with the nation’s vision to maintain leadership and excellence in human and national development. He also commended HBMSU’s unique experience which opened wider horizons for higher education through innovative concepts to university studies and academic achievement.
