DUBAI, UAE, February 25, 2018 – Power Talk: W Style. WHAT SHE SAID is global speaker and networking series presented by W Hotels, of women inspiring women from industries reflective of the Passion Points of the W: music, fashion, design and fuel.
W gives incredible women at the top of their game a stage upon which to share their personal stories at W properties around the world. Most events are free and open to the public on a first come first served basis, with the aim to inspire and ignite the audience in an unfiltered and uniquely W way. Each WHAT SHE SAID event includes a moderated discussion followed by a Q&A session with the audience, after which guests are encouraged to mix and mingle as they network, in true W style, over canapés and incredible music. Mix. Mingle. Inspire. Be inspired.
WHAT SHE SAID
For the first time ever, W Hotels will be bringing WHAT SHE SAID to the Middle East as a four-part series taking place across multiple W hotels in the region. From sharing business secrets to connecting over canapés, WHAT SHE SAID brings powerful, progressive women together followed by a networking opportunity with a dynamic discussion that’s recorded and made into a podcast, exclusively available on The Angle: the W brand’s dedicated lifestyle microsite.
For its first foray into the Middle East, the four-property, three-country series starts at W Dubai - Al Habtoor City in March, followed by W Amman, W Dubai – The Palm and W Doha Hotel & Residences throughout the course of 2018.
Each WHAT SHE SAID event will focus on one of the four W Passion Points of music, fashion, design, and fuel.
“We are thrilled to be bringing W Hotels’ What She Said to the Middle East,” said Candice D’Cruz, Vice President, Luxury Brand Marketing & Management, Marriott International, Middle East & Africa. “Our aim is to bring together incredible women with voices across the region to inspire others in a candid and real way to do better and push the envelope in every way possible.”
WHAT SHE SAID x BREAKING BOUNDARIES
The Middle Eastern series will debut with WHAT SHE SAID x Breaking Boundaries at the Wet Deck of W Dubai - Al Habtoor City on March 7th in celebration of International Women’s Day. The event will kick off with drinks and canapés at 7pm before leading into a line-up of inspirational speakers and panelists from the region who will motivate and inspire guests with their own personal accomplishments as they discuss the barriers that they faced in order to reach them, as well as the experiences and lessons that they learnt along the way.
WHAT SHE SAID, W Dubai - Al Habtoor City will focus on the W Passion Point of FUEL and will be moderated by Ritu Upadhyay, the Middle East correspondent for Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), with the panel of three including Raha Moharrak; the youngest Arab and first ever Saudi woman to conquer Everest, Engy El Shazly; the first Arab Hijabi ballerina and Somaiah Al Dabbagh; a Pro Bikini competitor and personal trainer.
Following the hour-long panel starting at 7:30pm, guests will then be invited to get their hearts racing and take part in a high intensity sweat session, activated in collaboration with GuavaPass.
