Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation Celebrates UAE Flag Day

Dubai-UAE: 2 November, 2017: Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) today joined public and private sector organizations across the UAE in marking the nation’s Flag Day with traditional fervor at its headquarters.
In line with the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Foundation convened a flag-raising ceremony that drew the participation of AMAF’s employees and some Minors. In collaboration with the Watani Al Emarat Foundation, AMAF volunteers distributed UAE flags to minors and their caregivers.
Speaking at the flag-raising ceremony, His Excellency Tayeb Al-Rais, Secretary General of AMAF, said: “On behalf of the Foundation, I congratulate the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on this auspicious occasion. I pray to the Almighty Allah to protect and preserve them as constant sources of inspiration to our citizens.”
He added: “The UAE Flag Day gives us a perfect opportunity to renew our loyalty and allegiance to our beloved country, and reaffirm our commitment to its advancement and to achieving the goals of the National Agenda of the UAE Vision 2021. On this day, we celebrate the progress, prosperity and happiness achieved by our nation that is the legacy of the founding father of the UAE, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. We must also remember the relentless efforts of the UAE people that have contributed to the country’s leading global standing, as well as our responsibility to protect their achievements and build on them.”
In closing, His Excellency Tayeb Al-Rais said: “Humanitarian work is a key driver of the UAE’s development journey and the foundation of a happy and prosperous society. This provides an added significance to AMAF’s mandate of promoting humanitarian values in the country.”
