Dubai, United Arab Emirates, September 20, 2017: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) announced during the weekly ‘Leaders at Your Service’ initiative that the Authority will continue to focus on providing humanitarian initiatives for patients with financial difficulties in DHA hospitals.
Leaders at Your Service initiative provides an opportunity for the public to express their feedback, suggestions and complaints to senior DHA leaders.
It provides customers with a direct platform to communicate with the leaders of the DHA and give their suggestions, feedback or complaints.
Salim Bin Lahej, Director of the humanitarian and assistance department at the DHA received several queries via phone calls during the live one-hour initiative. He discussed various volunteering and donation opportunities to help patients in DHA hospitals with financial difficulties.
Bin Lahej highlighted that the Authority’s Moussadah (Assistance) initiative has been chosen as one of the initiatives for the Year of Giving 2017 program.
In 2015, the Moussadah committee worked with various charities and organizations in the UAE to raise AED 67 million to help 1640 patients from 43 nationalities. In 2016, they raised 108 million dirhams and now that the program has been selected as one of the initiatives for the Year of Giving 2017, it is expected to benefit 3000 patients and provide 250 million AED in aid and carry out 49 medicine donation programmes.
“To make a person who is suffering from ill-health smile is true happiness, so we don’t consider our job as work, we look at it as an opportunity to serve others, it’s a privilege and I am lucky to be in this position,” said Bin Lahej.
