Dubai Health Authority signs memorandum of understanding with New York Presbyterian Hospital.

MoU in line with the Authority’s vision to become an international centre for cardiology
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 23, 2017: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) announced today that it plans to establish an International Centre of Cardiology in Dubai in collaboration with New York Presbyterian Hospital, which is one of the New York Presbyterian Hospital.
His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority signed an MoU with New York Presbyterian Hospital during his official tour of the USA where he met with several high-level healthcare officials from several health institutions and organizations.
Following the MoU signing, Al Qutami, said: “Dubai Health Authority is aware of the growing demand for its specialized health services across hospitals, primary care centres and specialized centers. Cardiology is one of the most important fields of medicine and the establishment of an international centre for cardiology, will increase Dubai's competitive capabilities on the international medical front, and it will further bolster its position on the global medical tourism map.
He highlighted that DHA has highly qualified healthcare professionals in the field of cardiology and that the DHA cardiology departments are recognised for their specialised services they provide both in interventional and open-heart cardiac procedures. The cardiology departments of DHA hospitals have become a referral centre for complicated cardiac cases and the establishment of this dedicated international centre will further aid in the provision of high level care.
He said that the Centre will have the latest equipment, super-care facilities and a unique healing environment and that the Centre will also focus on training education and research in the field of cardiology and that the Authority aims to make the centre a training hub in the region.
Officials from the New York- Presbyterian Hospital praised the plan adopted by the Authority for the establishment of an International Centre for Cardiology.
