57 Young People of Determination Became du Volunteers to Mark

Zayed Humanitarian Day this Ramadan
du invited students from the Rashid Centre, Mawaheb Centre, and the Tender Hearts Arena to experience the joy of giving at its Mawaed Al Rahman initiative #KindnessLivesOn

Dubai, UAE, 14 June 2017:  In celebration of Zayed Humanitarian Day in the Year of Giving, du invited young people of determination from the Rashid Centre for the Disabled, Mawaheb Centre, and the Tender Hearts Arena to experience the joy of volunteering and giving back to the community. 57 students altogether joined the initiative and, together, packed of boxes of essential Ramadan ingredients for families in Dubai and the Northern Emirates in line with #KindnessLivesOn. 

Held on the 19th day of Ramadan, Zayed Humanitarian Day celebrates the UAE’s Founding Father, who, through his life, upheld the principles of benevolence and humanitarian work, and encouraged others to protect the values of human generosity. 

Speaking about the initiative, Abdulwahed Juma, Executive Vice President of Brand and Corporate Communications at du said: “There is something very uplifting about giving back to your community, and on Zayed Humanitarian Day, it is important to remember that every single person in the UAE should be afforded the opportunity to volunteer for the benefit of his or her community. We were thrilled to welcome these children, and watching their faces lighting up as they packed the boxes was something truly priceless.”
